PTCOS is a railway signalling system/interface that safely controls train movement and traffic.
The interface is based on the signalling interface used in Norway called VICOS developed by SIEMENS.
The system works by sending commands to a centralized list that then checks if it is viable to execute the command.
If it is unsafe to perform the command (track is occupied or other) the system will either cancel the command or put it in an automation magazine which can execute it if the conditions become viable.
PTCOS is currently in development and testing in our partnered community Skogviken.
In Skogviken the system has proved vital to reduce both staff required for safe operations and efficency as well as the safety of railway operations.
The system is modular and can be fitted for almost any signalling system and is able to improve safety on most rail networks.
